What kind of images can F8 Photos offer?
Ray loves covering sporting events, parties, weddings and other religious gatherings. We also shoot Portraits and theater shows, graduations as well as creative studio work. For studio enhancement Mary uses Apple computers and Adobe software. Ray works with PC with Nikon software, plus Adobe software, Paintshop Pro and a variety of high end graphic editing programs. Scanning, digital printing, both Black and White and Full Color, up to 11"x14" is done in-house, larger sizes are sourced commercially. We also have the capability to do in-house traditional Black and White Processing.
How far are you willing to travel for a photo assignment?
Since we live in NH, the preference would be to stay in the New England area. The depth of any assignment or contract may incorporate travel issues. Travel is always welcome to places never seen before. All those details can be negotiated with pricing to suit requests. Time of year, travel conditions and assignments already booked does dictate limitations.
Do you only work with digital equipment?
No. The use of digital equipment is amazingly versatile and essential for today’s digital world. The use of film photography is a first love but far more time consuming, and costly. But for certain intimate moments, the unobtrusive quietness of the Leica M6 Rangefinder system is the right choice. Each and every need is evaluated and recommendation made to provide the best options and satisfy the customer’s needs. Black and White and Color, film photography, is available at F8 Photos upon request.
Can you send digital files to clients?
Yes. Normally a high volume of quality images would be sent on a CD/DVD. A few select images as jpeg can be emailed. Low resolution files as proofs can be sent as a collection for viewing purposes only.
Do you work alone?
Most of the time Ray works by himself. His wife Mary does assist him when she is available. Big events like weddings and photo shoots they do work together. Mary does have fine art and digital graphic arts experience and can work independent of Ray as well.
How many years have you worked in photography?
Ray has well over 40 years as a professional photographer.
What other services are available from F8 Photos?
Mary, an artist by training, also provides complete Portrait services, either Oil, Watercolor, or Acrylic, on a variety of media. She can work from existing photos or reference photos she takes herself to create unique and pleasing portraits and scenics.
